Reunion Details - Sept. 2-3, 2017

A note before reading this email. If you know of classmates that are NOT getting emails please pass this on to them by phone. We are trying to reach ALL classmates. Secondly, we will be working on a method of developing a booklet with all classmates who what to share their  (Full name),current full address, phone number, and email with others. So if you will include this information when communicating with me.

With about 5 months to go, here is the update for our Class of 1957 - 60th Reunion Celebration:

Labor Day Weekend, Saturday Sept. 2 and Sunday Sept. 3.

Saturday: Meadowbrook Country Club, 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM: Meet and Greet, Mix and Mingle, Hug and Kiss!  Heavy Hors D'oeuvres. Cash bar. Free Valet Parking. (200 Meadowbrook Country Club Estates, Ballwin, MO. 63011)

Sunday, Meadowbrook Country Club, 11:00 AM -3:00 PM: Sunday Brunch. Free Valet Parking.

Friday - Monday:

Reserve your room using this group number: 2277037. Reservations MUST BE MADE before July 31, 2017 to receive the Group Rate. Reservations are cancellable without charge up to 24 hours before arrival date. Reservations may also be made by calling 1-800-325-0720 and referring to your group number.
Room rates: Non-smoking $129.95 for either 2 Queen Beds (Deluxe) or 1 King Bed (Deluxe) plus taxes.
(Rooms at Group rates may be reserved for 3 nights if desired).
Hospitality Room available for mini-reunion visits with friends, and will include snacks and soft drinks.

We had hoped for "Free or nearly free" in our original flyer last May, but that was based on an estimate of 150-175 attendees. Because we're the best class in UCHS history and love each other so much, 225 of us are PTA: Planning To Attend! 135 Classmates, 90 Spouses/Significant Others. Nevertheless, still a very good deal for the whole weekend, don't you think?

Deadline for payment for reunion weekend is Aug. 8. Checks should be mailed to Judi Scissors, 14416 Valley Meadow Court West, Chesterfield,. MO. 63017.

Additional Notes:
Buddy Cooper will be sending you our current PTA (Planning To Attend) list. If you wish to sign up but haven't yet, PLEASE DO SO. Or, if you are currently signed up and circumstances prevent you from attending, or if a correction is necessary, please let him know. 

Very important: Please forward this announcement to those who have dropped off the '57 Class email list so that we can include them.
We will make an effort to accommodate those who need local transportation, if possible.

Sandy Jaffe will be printing class information Reunion Booklets (name, home address, email address, telephone, etc.) We will be requesting that information later.

Best ribs in St. Louis?

Click to enlarge Where's the best place for barbecued ribs in St. Louis? You know, St. Louis-style babyback ribs. Slow-cooked. With the sauce cooked in over several hours, not just sloshed on top before they hit your plate. The best place used to be the Philpott back yard at 550 Warder Avenue, right across the street from Ann Billmyer's and two doors down from Dorothy Gershenson, and a few more doors and across the street from Linda Lochhead. Next was Mac's BBQ on the Rock Road. Anyone remember Mac's? But it's years later, and times and places have changed. Now I'm talkin' finger-lickin' ribs. The roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-sauce-everywhere ribs. For my last birthday, I didn't want cake. I wanted Birthday Ribs! And I got them, too. Name your favorite BBQ joint in a comment below. From the Reunion Committee: Dear Classmates, Thanks to the generosity of Sandy Jaffe and the volunteer efforts of Gail Eisenkramer, a 60th Class Reunion Booklet will be distributed at the reunion.  If you wish to be included,  e-mail your name (including spouse and maiden name), email address, street address, and telephone number(s) to Gail Eisenkramer ( gbern1960@gmail.com ) as soon as possible.   The deadline for submission is July 1. Gail (and helpers) will collect and organize the names and information;  Sandy will print the booklets at no charge to us. The deadline is important to give him time to do the printing.   Please do NOT send your information to Buddy; he's got enough lists to keep busy!
